New Year, New You!

It's that time of the year again. Everyone is making their resolutions for the year.

Here are some cold hard facts for you:
those who make a New Year's resolution, after 1 week 75% are still successful in keeping it. After two weeks, the number drops to 71%. After 1 month, the number drops again to 64%. And after 6 months, 46% of people who make a resolution are still successful in keeping it.
What percentage do you think you'll be in this year?
Before you start a resolution, you first have to mentally prepare for change. Changing ingrained habits is no easy task, so before diving head-first into your New Year goals, it is important to take a step back and get ready for that impending change. Change is hard, no matter what it is. It's important to remember to give yourself grace! There may be days where you feel like you've taken a step backwards. That's okay - just regroup and pick back up where you left off! To make it easier, focus on making small changes that you can build on. Do you want to run a 5K but cardio hasn't been your focus over the last year...don't start with running sprints, start with a 30 minute walk three days a week!
There are no restrictions on what resolutions should look like. The three most common resolutions are: exercise more, lose weight, and get organized. I personally have made the first two resolutions several years, sometimes in a row! It's hard to get through the holidays without feeling like you've let yourself go. It's even harder to say "Okay, it's time to get serious". And I'd like to help those who are going to make the "exercise more" and/or "lose weight" resolutions for 2023!
